Zachary Richard:
"There is a new wind blowing in South Louisiana music. And it's called L'Angelus. Talented. Original. Yet tradition based. With roots in both Cajun and Country. To hear them play is a pleasure. To hear them sing is a joy. To see them smile is a wonder. I am a fan."
Michael Doucet dit BeauSoleil:
"L'Angelus" translates to me as "angelic voices" with the instrumental energy of a freight train that knows no boundaries . . . the magic of their music more than touches your heart . . . it pierces your heart then sweeps you away."
Bill Mack (Song of the Year Grammy Award "Blue", Country Music Radio Hall of Fame, Radio Host Country Crossroads):
You are --- without a single doubt --- the BEST, most refreshing, most talented act I've heard in years. I believe the word is UNBELIEVEABLE! ... Wanted to tell you the response has been SENSATIONAL from your "radio visit" with me yesterday. Never forget: I'm one of your biggest fans!
Dr. Michael Clark, Director, Oyster Ridge Music Festival:
L'Angelus electrified audiences at this year's Oyster Ridge Music Festival with their unique high energy Cajun and swamp rock style of music. Voted the band festivarians would most like to see again, L'Angelus has an easy southern energy that makes people want to dance and have fun.
Michel Durand, Festival du Voyageur, Winnipeg, MB, Canada:
"Engaging and fun, L'Angelus' performance is as energetic as it is charming. From the very first chords of the very first song, the Rees siblings know how to captivate the audience, get them dancing and not let up until the night is over! Each lyric is a dare to sing along, and each note an invitation to dance. Skilfully, they have captured the Cajun spirit and deliver it with heart, wit, flair and confidence (and a side of gumbo if you ask nicely)! Always a crowd favourite, it is truly a pleasure to be able to have them play with us again and again."
Marce LaCouture, KRVS Radio Show Host, Lafayette, Louisiana, 2006:
"You are more than a band. You are a force of nature."
Nick Pittman, Entertainment Editor, Times of Acadiana, 2006:
". . . enchantingly beautiful Cajun music with a lush, almost Gaelic quality."
Herman Fuselier, Entertainment Editor, Lafayette Daily Advertiser, 2006:
"A great CD."
Randy Falcon, Accordian Maker and Louisiana Musician:
"Who are you guys? How come I've never seen you play before? Where have you been?" |

Beautiful voices singing my favorite classic Christmas carols. My Christmas message was celebrating the infant Jesus and coming to him with child like sweetness and innocence. I used "Away In A Manger" as my closing song and I think their sweet voices made my point better than I did!

Reviews from TiberRiver.com
L'Angelus is an amazing band with many talents. This newest and third CD contains sacred hymns I would want to hear at church and just about everywhere else. Their talented voices and amazing instrumental skills make listening enjoyable even when I'm not looking for a particular track. Plus It helps keep me from going crazy on days with lots of traffic. Unfortunately this CD still does not include their great song "Rice and Gravy." Besides that last detail "Sacred Hymns" is a great CD.
It's like any regular CD. A round, perfect shape that magically plays sound once placed inside a slot. The CD contains 12 beautiful songs, not one that is unlikeable. The songs are all Catholic songs, and very heart warming. They won't crush your soul like a lot of the music you find, but rather help to strengthen it and bring you closer to God. It's the perfect music that everyone should be listening to today. These talented young musicians are the perfect influence that's needed in today's music industry.
People who love religious music and chants should definitely get L'Angelus "Sacred Hymns." If you have listened to "The Priests" and enjoyed their music you will most likely also enjoy this CD. If you have either of their older CD's and enjoyed them, this is a great one to add to your collection. This band's music is suggested if you are getting tired of the same old music that harms your soul.

(5 STARS) If you love angelic voices and exuberance with every measure. Langelus is as good as it gets. They sound every bit as good LIVE as they do on disc....maybe better because they are teriffic performers. I can't wait to see them again and their CD is wonderful. The vocals will bring tears to your eyes.
An instant favorite!

(5 STARS)This is the first authentic cajan album we have bought and we loved it. L'Angelus is wildly talented and EACH song delivers a unique and timeless story, leaving you with something more eternal. Motivated by faith and entrusted with love, they truly give glory to the giver of their gifts.

(5 STARS) I did receive my cd's and just love listening to it. I find it to be so uplifting and hearing the violin just makes you want to get up and dance. This music is so refreshing and love listening to it in my truck. Waiting to get more music from them and also with Rice and Gravy song that Bill Mack plays on his show. It is so nice to hear good music from the young people and especially from Louisiana. We love Cajun Music.......

I saw the "family", with many extras, perform at the Family Festival in Baton Rouge for newly elected Governor Bobby Jindal's inauguration festivities. They also performed on inauguration day. Very entertaining, energetic and wonderful musicians. Bought one CD for myself and 2 others for gifts. Can't wait to see them again and hope their next CD comes soon. If you get a chance to see or hear this family, don't pass it up.
